LINOCUT COLLECTION

Linoleum or Lino is a material that is cut into to produce a relief image. When ink is applied by roller ( I use linseed oil based inks ) the surface of the lino that has not been cut away will print the design ( a woodcut and wood engraving also make a relief print).

Printing Linocuts by hand has an advantage in that a printing press is not essential for making a print and it is well suited for printing repeat patterns on paper and fabric. Pencil marks are drawn out first to enable registration.

I use a very good local framer who specialises in mounting and framing pictures that are made on hand made papers.

Each image is a high quality colour reproduction of original artwork although some cards are original linocuts.

A printed fabric selection of some of  my work.
